Dr Liesbeth Frias

Liesbeth Frias is a Research Fellow in the Emerging Infectious Diseases Programme at Duke-NUS Medical School. She holds a PhD in Biological Sciences with a focus on disease ecology from Kyoto University, and a Master's degree in Epidemiology and Public Health from the Oswaldo Cruz Institute. Her research focuses on the ecological impacts of land use change in Southeast Asia and the implications for parasite transmission processes at the wildlife-human interface. She is particularly interested in examining the links between disease, biodiversity, land-use planning, and public health. Currently, at Duke-NUS, she is conducting wildlife pathogen surveillance in high-risk interface areas in Central and Southeast Asia.on.
