Dr Mateus Kambale Sahani
Mateus K. Sahani is a Research Fellow at the Vaccine Confidence Project and Clinical Trial Medical & Safety Officer for the DRC Ebola Vaccine Trial. He is a medical doctor holding an MD from the University of Goma and a Master’s degree in Global Health from the University of Maastricht/Netherlands. He has been previously involved in clinical trial projects as program coordinator and lead of community engagement programs, including coordinator of Woman Trial in DRC with LSHTM; coordinator of TB-PRACTECAL Project in Tashkent/Uzbekistan with MSF/Manson Unit; coordinator of ZEBOVAC Trial in Mbarara/Uganda with Epicentre; Coordinator of Yellow Fever Vaccine fractional dose trial in Mbarara/Uganda with Epicentre and coordinator of Yellow Fever Vaccine dose finding study in Mbarara/Uganda with Epicentre.
He has been conducting independent research and presented findings at various international conferences. He has served as Country Ambassador for the American Society of Microbiology (ASM) for the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) January 2017 to December 2019 and has accepted the role of RSTMH Country Ambassador for the Democratic Republic of the Congo in October 2020.
