Dr Paul Jackson
Dr. Paul Jackson is currently a Scientific Director in the Global Public Health group at Johnson & Johnson based in San Diego, CA. In this role he leads several early discovery programs in Neglected Tropical Diseases and malaria. He joined Johnson & Johnson in 2000 as a Team Leader in medicinal chemistry in Raritan, NJ and has worked in the fields of neuroscience, immunology, oncology, and infectious diseases. Prior to Johnson & Johnson he worked at Guilford Pharmaceutical and Zeneca Pharmaceuticals in the area of central nervous system disorders.
Dr. Jackson received his Ph.D. in organic chemistry from the University of Rochester and was a National Institutes of Health Postdoctoral Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is currently a member of the World Intellectual Property Organization NTD advisory board, an Associate Editor for the Transactions of the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene and holds a faculty appointment at the University of California San Diego. Dr. Jackson is an author on 41 publications and is an inventor on 58 US patents and has been an invited speaker to meetings with Senate committees, Cabinet secretaries, State government officials, and non-profit organizations.
