NIHR grants 2019

We re delighted that the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR), the research function of the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC), is providing funding for 30 small grants as part of RSTMH’s 2019 small grants programme.

The purpose of the grants, of up to £5,000 each, is to enable early career researchers and global health professionals in the field of tropical medicine or global health to undertake clinical or scientific research or fieldwork, as stand-alone projects or distinct elements within larger projects.

This NIHR funding is a huge boost to this unique programme, enabling us to triple the number of small grants provided from 2018, thus ensuring that the pipeline of new research across tropical medicine and global health is further bolstered.

We’re happy to be working in partnership with the NIHR and hope the collaboration goes from strength to strength.

*The NIHR Global Health Research (GHR) Programme is funded through UK Official Development Assistance (ODA) via the Department of Health and Social Care.
