Maiga Hamidou

Maiga Hamidou is a medical entomologist at the Institut de Recherche en Sciences de la Santé, Direction Régionale de l'Ouest, (IRSS-DRO), Burkina Faso, with extensive experience in the development of innovative and alternative/complementary tools against human disease vectors. He is currently supporting a capacity-building and monitoring programme for next-generation researchers in collaboration with the National Malaria Elimination Programme. 

He had an international career as a Medical Entomologist, where he built a strong network and experience in the development and deployment of the sterile insect technique package, including mass-rearing, irradiation, marking, quality control, releasing, monitoring, and long-distance transport.
