Dr Chandy John

Global Assessor

Dr John is a clinician specialising in paediatric infectious diseases at the Riley Hospital for Children at IUHealth. He holds The Ryan White Endowed Chair in Pediatric Infectious Diseases and is the Director of The Ryan White Center for Pediatric Infectious Disease and Global Health at Indiana University. His research focuses on malaria pathogenesis, immunology and epidemiology and infections in children with sickle cell disease.  

Dr John has conducted research and training programmes in Kenya in collaboration with colleagues at the Kenya Medical Research Institute, and in Uganda in collaboration with colleagues at Makerere University. 

He is co-chairs the Thrasher Research Fund Scientific Advisory Committee, is on the Advisory Board of the Fogarty International Center at the National Institutes of Health and is a past president of the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene.
