Dr Jennifer Read
Dr Jennifer Read is Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Vermont and Clinical Professor of Epidemiology, Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, University of California at San Francisco. She trained in pediatrics and pediatric infectious diseases (University of Michigan and Johns Hopkins University), epidemiology (Harvard University and the National Institutes of Health), and tropical medicine (London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine). Prior to taking on her current positions, she worked as a medical epidemiologist for the U.S. Government in addition to providing clinical care to infants, children, and adolescents with infectious diseases, including HIV. Dr. Read’s research interests have focused on infections in immunocompromised patients as well as congenital and perinatal infections, especially HIV, and has collaborated with investigators in Latin America and the Caribbean, sub-Saharan Africa, and South Asia to carried out multiple clinical trials and prospective cohort studies.
