Dr John Amuasi is Executive Director, African Research Network for NTDs and Co-Chair of the Lancet One Health Commission

Dr. Amuasi lectures at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, where he heads the Global Health Department. Dr. Amuasi is also Group Leader of the Global One Health Research Group at the Bernhard Nocht Institute of Tropical Medicine in Hamburg, Germany and at the Kumasi Center for Collaborative Research in Tropical Medicine in Ghana, which hosts the Secretariat of the African Research Network for Neglected Tropical Diseases (ARNTD) – which he leads. Dr. Amuasi’s research currently involves both clinical and field epidemiologic studies on neglected tropical diseases and antimicrobial resistance using a One Health approach. Dr. Amuasi also co-chairs the Lancet One Health Commission and is the PI for some studies on COVID-19 in Ghana, including drug and vaccine clinical trials.
