Professor Kate Stacey
Professor and Director of Research, School of Chemistry and Molecular Biosciences, The University of Queensland
Kate Stacey works in innate immunity, with a long-term interest in mechanisms of macrophage activation through receptors for pathogen products. She has worked on TLR and inflammasome signalling pathways in response to foreign nucleic acids and bacterial lipopolysaccharide. Recently she has also been investigating the pathogenesis of dengue infection in mouse models, with a particular interest in the role of dysbiosis, gut inflammation and leak in promoting severe disease.
