Professor Rick Holliman

Rick Holliman studied medicine at St Mary’s Hospital Medical School. After qualification, he completed his specialist training in Medical Microbiology at hospitals across London, the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine and Stanford University. Subsequently, he took up a consultant post at St George’s Hospital & Medical School where he developed specialist interests in infections of the immune compromised and toxoplasmosis. Later he became the Health Protection Agency Regional Microbiologist for London and Professor of Public Health Microbiology, University of London. He has served on several government advisory committees and worked overseas in countries such as Brazil, Ghana, Romania, South Africa and USA. He retired in 2016 but returned to clinical work temporarily during the COVID pandemic.
