World Health Day 2024: 2023 Journal Highlights Collection

07 Apr 2024

To mark World Health Day, taking place on 7 April 2024, we are delighted to share the 2023 Journal Highlights Collection.

This collection celebrates the best papers that were published in the 117th Volume of Transactions of the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (TRSTMH) and the 15th Volume of International Health, as selected by the Editor’s in Chief of each journal - Professor Nick Day, Editor-in-Chief of Transactions and Dr Stefanie Meredith, Editor-in-Chief of International Health.

Whilst making their selections, the Editors remarked on the significant contribution each paper has made to their respective fields, as demonstrated by the number of citations and downloads they have already received. They also highlighted the potential impact of each paper in policy documents, as well as their broader impact across news articles and social media.

We would like to acknowledge all authors who submitted their work to us throughout 2023 and thank our Associate Editors and reviewers for their continue support and, finally, congratulate the authors of the papers in this collection for their outstanding work.

The World Health Organization theme for World Health Day 2024 is 'My health, my right’. This year’s theme was chosen to champion the right of everyone, everywhere to have access to quality health services, education, and information, as well as safe drinking water, clean air, good nutrition, quality housing, decent working and environmental conditions, and freedom from discrimination.
