Amaya Bustinduy
Amaya trained in paediatrics and infectious diseases in the US and worked on helminthic infections, mainly schistosomiasis, and their impact on child health in Coastal Kenya. She is foremost a field clinical epidemiologist and has investigated a broad range of disease manifestations and diagnostics at the point-of-care in children and adolescents in Malawi and Zambia. Her current research explores the integration of self-sampling for the diagnosis of female genital schistosomiasis with screening for other reproductive tract infections (HPV/ cervical cancer, STIs and HIV).
