Dr Deb P Pandey

Deb Pandey is an Adjunct Professor at Department of Veterinary Microbiology and Parasitology, Agriculture and Forestry University, Nepal. In addition to ecology of snakes, his research interests include the snakebites and parasites including vector borne diseases. He aims to characterize eco-epidemiology of ailments caused by snakes and parasites in order to involve one health approach for their effective prevention and control.  He began my research on snakes and snakebites in 2005 following the small research grant provided by the University Grant Commission, Nepal and on parasites in 2001 following the study of intestinal parasites of endangered vultures funded by Bird Conservation Nepal. Since then he has been involving in various other research projects in the field of snakes, snakebites, parasites, and toxicity. He is also interested in venom and antivenom researches. He was graduated in M.Sc. Zoology (Parasitology as a special paper) from Central Department of Zoology, Tribhuvan University, Kirtipur, Kathmandu, Nepal in 2003. He accomplished his PhD on "Venomous snakes of medical relevance in Nepal: study on species, epidemiology of snake bite and assessment of risk factors of envenoming and death" from the Faculty of Biosciences, Johann Wolfgang Goethe University, Frankfurt am Main, Germany in 18th September 2015. He published over 24 research articles in peer review journals and 18 communications in international congress (mostly on snakebite envenoming and management related).
