Senior Adviser, Uniting to Combat NTDs; Retired Director of WHO's Department of Control of Neglected Tropical Diseases
Dr Dirk Engels is currently Senior Adviser to Uniting to Combat NTDs. He has worked for the World Health Organization for 20 years and retired as Director of the Department of Control of Neglected Tropical Diseases in 2017. During the first 16 years of his career he successively worked in clinical tropical medicine, public health, and tropical disease control, in Zambia, Zimbabwe, Burundi, Rwanda and Senegal.
