Dr Susan Elizabeth Jones

Susan studied Microbiology & Virology for her undergraduate degree, followed by a PhD in Microbiology, at the University of Warwick. After 10 years of postdoctoral research at the University of Warwick and Imperial College, London, she left the lab in 2003 to join the launch team of Nature Reviews Microbiology, becoming Chief Editor in 2008. She moved to PLOS Medicine in 2009 where she was responsible for infectious disease, public health and molecular medicine. She joined Nature Biotechnology in 2012 as Senior Editor, and was responsible for applied microbiology, including vector control among other areas. She joined Nature Microbiology as Chief Editor in March 2020.
