Santhosh Moorthy is a third-year medical student at Newcastle University, currently based at Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Alongside his medical studies, he was awarded a research scholarship from the Alzheimer’s Research UK North East Network Centre. He used ELISA techniques on plasma samples to test for key biomarkers, including neurofilament light chain (NfL) and glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP).
