Dr Ebere Okereke

Chief Program Officer Reaching the Last Mile

Dr Ebere Okereke is an global health physician, whose work primarily focuses on health security, health system strengthening, and the cultivation of effective leadership in the field. Dr Okereke has garnered prestigious accolades in recognition of her advocacy for women and under-represented groups in public health leadership.

She was recognised as an outstanding role model for women in academic medicine by the British Medical Association in 2022 and was profiled in The Lancet in November 2023, and in December 2023 she received an honorary Doctor of Science degree from the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine UK.

Dr Okereke is a Fellow of the UK Faculty of Public Health and an Associate Fellow at Chatham House. She is a graduate of the University of Nigeria College of Medicine and has post graduate and executive level qualifications from Newcastle University, Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine

Ebere is currently the Chief Program Office of Reaching the Last Mile, the private philanthropic foundation of the President of UAE.
