Professor AnnaMaria Geretti

Professor of Virology and Infectious Diseases

AnnaMaria Geretti, MD, PhD, FRCPath, is a Professor of Virology & Infectious Diseases and Honorary Consultant in Infectious Diseases. She is based at the Institute of Infection & Global Health, University of Liverpool and the Royal Liverpool University Hospital, where she consult on viral infections, sees patients with HIV and viral hepatitis, teaches and conducts research. Her research activities focus on antiviral therapy, virus genetic diversity and diagnostics, and have led to over 200 publications. She contributes to HIV management guidelines internationally, is Secretary of the European AIDS Clinical Society (EACS), and a founding member of the British Society for NanoMedicine. She enthusiastically shares her expertise to train doctors and scientists and runs capacity building programmes in Africa.
