Professor Kerry Atkinson

Adjunct Professor

Kerry Atkinson is an Adjunct Professor in the Stem Cell Laboratory of the Queensland University of Technology at the Translational Research Institute in Brisbane, currently focusing on new biological treatments becoming available for a wide and diverse number of diseases.

He was President of the Transplantation Society of Australia and New Zealand, founded the Australasian BMT Cooperative Study Group and the Australian BMT Data Registry. In 1987 he co-founded the Australian Bone Marrow Transplant Foundation. Prior to accepting the position of Director of Allogeneic Stem Cell Therapies at Mater Health Services, Brisbane in 2000, he was Medical Director/Vice-President of Clinical Affairs at Osiris Therapeutics, Inc., Baltimore, USA. He has published 240 peer-reviewed papers in the marrow transplant and stem cell literature, 84 book chapters, 20 invited reviews and a number of books.
