Temitayo Femi Matthew
Temitayo Femi Matthew is a dedicated global health enthusiast with over three years of experience in designing and implementing numerous health intervention projects and programs for communities.
He served as the Technical Officer on Infectious Diseases and National Public Health Officer of the Nigerian Medical Students’ Association (NiMSA) in 2021 and 2022 respectively where he coordinated nationwide health awareness and promotion initiatives, including a collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO).
Temitayo is the Coordinating Officer for the Antimicrobial Resistance Club, Obafemi Awolowo University where he led the club to organize training and sensitization events to commemorate World AMR Week 2023 in the University, in partnership with the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, Federal Ministry of Environment, ACORN International and the World Health Organization (WHO).
He is an active member of the International Federation of Medical Students’ Associations (IFMSA) where he served as General Assistant to the President in 2022/2023 and has been a delegate to meetings and conferences in three continents. He has also contributed to several Small Working Groups and Policy Documents of the Federation. As an IFMSA-certified soft skills trainer and capacity-builder, he actively contributes to the development of other aspiring healthcare professionals by facilitating workshops and trainings.
Temitayo is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, and serves as the President of the Obafemi Awolowo University Medical Students’ Association (IFUMSA).
