Transactions of The Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (TRSTMH) was founded in 1908 and offers a respected voice for clinicians, health-related scientists, development organisations and students.

This month’s Editor’s Choice is a systematic review and meta-analysis by Hoang and colleagues, which reviews the efficacy of different COVID-19 vaccines against different viral variants. Their work found high but heterogenous levels of protection for most COVID-19 vaccines, with decreasing protective effects for vaccines based on traditional technologies as SARS-CoV-2 variants emerged over time. Furthermore, novel nucleic acid-based vaccines offered substantially higher and more consistent protection.

Other articles include an assessment of native copepods as a potential tool for Aedes vector control and a study of Freshwater jellyfish in northeastern Argentina.
