World TB Day 2024: Article Collection
Ahead of World TB Day on 24 March 2024, we have compiled a number of recent articles from our two journals International Health and Transactions.
Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease that most often affects the lungs and is caused by a type of bacteria. It spreads through the air when infected people cough, sneeze or spit. Tuberculosis is preventable and curable. About a quarter of the global population is estimated to have been infected with TB bacteria.
The WHO theme of World TB Day 2024 is ‘Yes! We can end TB!’ which conveys a message of hope that getting back-on-track to turn the tide against the TB epidemic is possible through high level leadership, increased investments and faster uptake of new WHO recommendations. Read more here.
