2025 RSTMH Early Career Grants Programme opens for applications

The 2025 RSTMH Early Career Grants Programme is now open for applications. Last year, the Programme provided 252 grants to those early in their careers to carry out their first piece of research into tropical medicine or global health.
The Programme encourages and supports the next generation of tropical medicine and global health professionals growing their skills and networks, improving confidence and enabling the development and dissemination of interesting and innovative outcomes in tropical medicine and global health.
Early career researchers and global health professionals based anywhere in the world, who have not had equivalent research funding in their own name before, can apply for a grant of up to £5,000 (GBP) to deliver a project within one year.
The projects can be on any topic related to tropical medicine and global health, from across the research spectrum of lab, translation, implementation, and policy.
“We are delighted to launch our 2025 Early Career Grants Programme building on the success of the past few years. Since 2018 more than 1,100 early career professionals have had the opportunity to deliver their first research project and take an important step in their career.
“We hope to see applications on all areas of tropical medicine and global health and would encourage anyone who is eligible for the Programme and has an interesting idea and problem to solve to consider applying. There are many global health issues that need addressing and we need many great minds from around the world focused on them.”
