Asia Malaria Images: a photography exhibition
Malaria in the Asia-Pacific is virtually invisible. Those living with the disease often reside in remote rural settings, often unseen by the people living in the enormous and gleaming metropolises of the region. The Malaria Asian Images project and exhibition aims to bring visibility to the people and their malaria burden via artistic photography of them and their environment.
Pearl Gan is a Singapore-based photographer and the project is being funded by a Wellcome Trust Provisions for Public Engagement Award to OUCRU Vietnam through Eijkman Oxford Clinical Research Unit in Jakarta and headed by Professor Kevin Baird.
The exhibition in Singapore will run from 2 to 29 Sept 2017 at the National Library Singapore.
