Podoconiosis – cross-disciplinary research updates in the year of NTDs

In December 2020, we published a special issue of Transactions on podoconiosis, or nonfilarial elephantiasis; a neglected tropical disease (NTD), which causes massive swelling of the lower limbs due to chronic exposure to irritant soils.

This special issue focuses on mycetoma and touches on a range of topics, including the first and sole comparative clinical trial of a new medication for mycetoma that is only now underway in Sudan.
