Ahead of our World Neglected Tropical Disease Day webinar on Climate Change, Malaria, and NTDs, which focuses on a major scoping review published in RSTMH Journal  Transactions of the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, Professor Deirdre Hollingsworth, one of the paper’s authors and speaker at the webinar, looks at potential ways to advance research on the impact of climate change on malaria and NTDs. 

Transactions of The Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (TRSTMH) was founded in 1908 and offers a respected voice for clinicians, health-related scientists, development organisations and students.

To mark World Neglected Tropical Disease Day (World NTD Day) 2025, we spoke to a number of our Early Career Grant awardees about what this year’s theme of ‘Unite, Act, Eliminate’ means to them and why they chose to focus on NTDs in their Early Career Grant research.

At RSTMH, we were saddened to hear of the death of former US President Jimmy Carter, who died on the 29 December 2024 at the age of 100. I was very lucky to have the opportunity to meet President Carter some years ago in London. Though it was for a very short time I was struck by his obvious commitment and passion for his work and for communities across the world.

A few weeks ago a few of us from the RSTMH team were incredibly lucky to be able to attend the ASTMH Annual Meeting in New Orleans. Having not attended the meeting for a few years it was a great opportunity to reconnect with the event, meet with many of our current members, Fellows and partners and explore new relationships.
